Lionectar - Smart Honey

I wanted to make sure that when the warm weather comes, you don't have to give up honey!
I wanted a healthy alternative when it comes to soft drinks!
I wanted a range of products on the soft drinks market that didn't contain preservatives.

In the past decades, the focus of food preservation has been on killing bacteria. This has been done with preservatives, heat treatment, ultrasonic, high pressure, high voltage...

But this kills not only the harmful bacteria, but also the beneficial ones. We now know that we need these bacteria for the optimal functioning of our organism.

And raw honey contains beneficial probiotic bacteria and valuable amino acids, as long as it is not subjected to heat treatment or other preservation processes.

For years we have been looking for ways to preserve the beneficial properties of raw honey.

And then it hit us! God figured that out when it was honey's turn :)

In an environment where the water content is below 20% and the sugar content is high (i.e. honey), harmful bacteria cannot survive, but beneficial bacteria can. This is why honey does not spoil.

To meet these conditions, we have called on lyophilised fruit.

Lyophilisation is a dehydration process where water is separated from the frozen product by vacuum. This is very fortunate because it retains almost 97% of the nutritional value.

I would have liked to have fruit juices and soft drinks made from more than just apples and peaches!

Sounds funny, but it turns out that I (David) am personally allergic to apples and peaches!

What are all the juice and syrup preparations full of? Of course apples and peaches :)

It was very difficult to find an alternative. But in summer it's good to have a delicious flavour to help you stay hydrated.

We currently make it with over 6 different types of fruit: strawberry, raspberry, lemon, orange, strawberry and banana.

There are so many different kinds of Lionectar.

We currently offer our customers 2 product ranges using lyophilised fruit and raw honey. One is the drink and the other is the (snack)


"LIONECTAR drink" is a Natural drink based on honey and fruit.

It can be prepared as: juice, tea, lemonade, cocktail, shake base, flavoured mineral water... alternatively depending on the dilution.
To ensure that the flavours are retained after dilution and that the drink is properly refreshing, we have added long-absorption vitamin C and citric acid.
No preservatives!
Made from raw honey without heat treatment, so it contains probiotic beneficial bacteria.
Thanks to the honey, it contains valuable minerals, amino acids and trace elements.
The lyophilised fruit is high in vitamins, fibre and fruit content.
Up to 10x–20x dilution ratio. Therefore, a bottle can produce 2.2 to 4.4 litres of fruit drink.

Yes, we know it is not cheap. The price of pressed juices is around a litre.

But it is safe to say that the highest quality ingredients are available to our bodies in the most natural way possible.

These properties make it a health food, functional food or dietary supplement.

If you look at it this way, you can drink it as a 10–20 glass drink for up to 10–20 days.

 

We use the same thinking to make a drink base from essential oils and raw honey.

From oils of orange, lemon, lavender, lemongrass, mint.

But it's not LIO, it's not made from lyophilized fruit.

So what should we call it? :)

It's a divine coincidence that if you've got the lionectar trademarked, you've almost got the O in front of it.

OLIOnectar is then produced.

This is a reference to the oil and also a reference to the link to lionectar. These products dissolve more easily in liquid because of their softness due to the oil.
