Details

A "binder" that can be used in heat-treated (baked-cooked) dishes instead of eggs. During production, the flaxseed is broken down, so that the substances in the ground flaxseed are well utilized by the body. Also high in dietary fibre (9-10%), it helps to protect the intestinal tract and circulation, protect mucous membranes and balance blood sugar levels. Because of its physiological role, high-fibre flaxseed meal is recommended for home preparation of "vascular and intestinal protective" breads, bakery products with higher protein, trace elements and fibre content, pâtés, meatballs, or mixed into soups, stews, ready meals, and pulp foodstuffs. It can be used in the diets of people with cardiovascular problems, intestinal and arthritic diseases, diabetics, constipation, haemorrhoids, respiratory problems and those who want to lose weight. Replacing some of the flour with flaxseed meal increases the fibre, vitamin, mineral and protein content of bakery products, while reducing their calorie and carbohydrate content.

Flaxseed meal is also special because of its phytoestrogen (lignan) content. Lignans can promote ovulation in women of a productive age and can reduce the unpleasant symptoms of menopause in women approaching menopause, such as irregular cycles, breast cysts and mood swings due to hormonal fluctuations.
